You ever think about how the last 6 minutes of Turn A with Yoko Kanno's 'Moon's Cocoon' playing is probably the hardest hitting thing Tomino has ever directed? How it might be the greatest last 6 minutes in fiction?

Kihel viewing the archives of the Dark History represented in the form of archival footage of previous Gundam shows, and simply being reduced to tears by the magnitude of suffering inflicted upon humanity by mobile suits leaves me in shambles every time I think about it. You can feel Tomino wrangling with his own complicated relationship with Gundam, an already gargantuan franchise by the time he directs Turn A.
G-Reco would later show Tomino had softened on some of those bitter feelings, but for that decade where we assumed Turn A would be Tomino's last word on Gundam, what a beautifully anguished final statement it was.
