Since she technically appears in official material, unlike my other OCs, I'll refrain from the usual OC lore dump. I don't think anything about her would run contrary to Lancer's setting or values, but I like the idea of the Lancer cover girl being kinda mysterious. A nameless mercenary unbeholden to anyone. Fighting on her own terms for her own ideals. Can you tell I really like Armored Core?
People with good memory might recognize her from the character sketches I did last year or more recently from her tiny appearance on the special edition Lancer reprint cover. I really liked the design and kind of lamented that I never got another chance to use it so to celebrate the release, here she is again.
In some regard I've probably kept her on the backburner because I could not help but feel a bit self conscious that I designed such an egregiously self indulgent character for a piece of official Lancer material. Ponytail and shark teeth? The pilot suit? Good god what was I thinking. Drawing her from behind was a blessing or else the Lancer folks would have caught on. If I ever do a longer post about the thought process that went into designing that cover, I'll talk about how at multiple junctures I was teetering on the precipice of putting my whole ass out there.
Still on my early 00s digital maximalism kick and the font pack from Yuta One knocked that into high gear again. I'm not even sure what I was trying to do with these. Vibes of early 00s techno/breakbeat album cover I guess? Might do some more of these with my other Lancer OCs...
